11 weeks since accident

Hello everyone

It looks like our blogs will be weekly now since there is not a whole lot of updating except for Todd's therapy sessions. Todd met with his surgeon this week for a post-op follow up visit. The surgeon was very pleased with Todd's progress and will see Todd again in 3 months. The surgeon feels that as far as the surgery went, Todd is healing nicely. Todd does not need to wear his safety helmet anymore while walking. Hip hip hooray. Therapy started on Friday 11/9. This is going to be great since we finally feel like we are beginning to make some progress. Todd's therapists mean business and Todd is ready for any challenges they throw at him.
As of now Todd is scheduled for speech, physical and occupational therapy 3 times a week. The therapies are all limited and we have to keep re-applying for insurance to pay. Thanks to God we do have a few weeks to work with right now. We'll take all we can get. Just to let you know, we have wonderful therapists working with Todd. Your thoughts, prayers and comments are very encouraging and all of them are relayed to Todd.....so he does get your comments. Thank you and keep them coming.

Hi Todd,
Glad to hear things are moving forward again with your therapy, and that your doctor gave you a positive report on your healing. We all knew that you were going to pull through this thing, and you are not letting anyone down. Keep up the good work! As for Dave's comments, I think you know me better than that. I go to the gym mimimum 2 times, maximum 3 times, depending on my hectic work schedule and social calender. Plus, the golf body building program I am on has relaxed gym visitation rules, as you know. Golfers don't want to be too chiseled, as you and I have discussed. We'll let Dave continue to live in his fictitious writing world. He enjoys laughing at his jokes and at me.
On another gym related topic, I must tell you (sadly) that Mark and the "other" Dave have filed for milk carton status. Without you they simply do not have the direction and dedication needed to stay in tip-top physical condition. They may have filed for a leave of absense. I'll keep you posted. My Giants and your Dolphins suffered tough losses today. At least Andy had a good day. I didn't hear about the Jets losing today, did you? For now my friend. We look forward to being able to visit with you in the future. As always, Nadine sends her very best.
Your work out buddy,
Frank
PS I have tomorrow off and will be lifting early in the a.m. I'm sure Dave will report something different.

Todd, keep up the good work. I am home from Ohio and can't wait to be able to visit. Just so you know I am still going to serve Thanksgiving dinners this year.. it's our tradition & it will remind me how thankful we all are and should be for God's gifts. God bless you.
Love

Todd,
If anyone can make it through this, it is you. Didn't you even win an award in high school for being tough - being able to play through and come back from injuries (or something like that)? You've got a great support network in your family and they have a wonderful ability to see the silver lining in the face of adversity - and I know as well as they do that it is there, waiting for you now. You also have the best group of friends anyone could ask for and I know they will be there with you every step of the way. I wish you the best with your recovery and for the future - you deserve it.

Todd,
Keep up the great progress you are making! You are definitely not someone who is going to let anything stand in your way of success. Keep pushing, even when you feel too tired. Keep fighting, even when you feel completely fed up. Stay positive, and keep your eye on the prize. You have always had such an uplifting, amazing energy about you! It was great seeing you two years ago at Carman Park. You are the same ole Todd you always were. You put a smile on everyone's face - just by talking to them. Remember when you used to "air drum" and I'd always ask you to throw the "sticks" in the air and catch them? You probably don't! haha But it is something that you'd do and would always make me laugh. My thoughts and prayers are with you and your family. Everyone is rooting for you!
